TNPSC photo resize, resizer and size reducer
This TNPSC photo compressor prepares the photograph you upload in TNPSC One Time Registration (OTR) and in every exam application. It crops the photo to the right shape, resizes it, adds your name and the date the photo was taken, and compresses it to the KB range TNPSC accepts.
Use it whenever you need a TNPSC photo resize, a TNPSC photo resizer or a TNPSC photo size reducer: a studio photo of 2 MB, a phone camera photo of 5 MB or a scanned print all become a ready-to-upload Photograph.jpg in under a minute.

- Enter name and date: Type your name in English capital letters and choose the date the photo was taken.
- Choose your photo: Tap the upload box and select a recent colour photo from the gallery, files or camera.
- Crop the photo: Move and zoom so your face, ears and neck are inside the box. The box keeps the correct TNPSC shape.
- Create and check: Press Create photo. Check that the name and date are clear in the strip below the photo.
- Download Photograph.jpg: Download the JPG (413 × 531 px, 20–50 KB) and upload it in TNPSC OTR or your exam application.
Before you upload, open the downloaded file once and check the name spelling and the date. The TNPSC portal does not let you change a wrong photo easily after you submit.
TNPSC photo compressor 20 KB, 30 KB and 50 KB
Many candidates search for a TNPSC photo compressor 50 KB, 30 KB or 20 KB. TNPSC asks for a file between 20 KB and 50 KB, so the tool aims for the clearest photo that stays under your chosen maximum:
- 20 – 50 KB (default): the TNPSC range. Best clarity.
- 20 – 40 KB or 20 – 30 KB: use these only if a notification or another portal asks for a smaller file.
- Never below 20 KB: very small files look blurred and TNPSC rejects files under the minimum.
The exact size of your file is shown after it is created, together with the pixels and DPI, so you do not need to check it in another app.
Free TNPSC photo editor and photo maker online
This page works as a complete TNPSC photo editor: a photo maker, photo converter and photo KB reducer in one. You do not need Photoshop, Paint or a separate app. It changes PNG, WebP or HEIC into JPG, reduces a 5 MB photo to below 50 KB, adds name and date, and sets the correct 3.5 × 4.5 cm size, all in one place.
- TNPSC photo converter: any image format to JPG.
- TNPSC photo KB reducer: 1–20 MB down to 20–50 KB.
- TNPSC photo with name and date maker: prints both in the bottom strip.
- TNPSC image resizer: exact pixels and DPI for the portal.

Resize photo from 20 KB to 50 KB online, free

Common TNPSC photo problems and fixes
Photo above 50 KB
Phone and studio photos are often 1–5 MB. Upload the original here; the tool reduces it to 20–50 KB without making it blurry.
Photo below 20 KB
Do not compress an already tiny image again. Use the original photo; the tool keeps the file above 20 KB.
Name and date missing
Fill both fields before you create the photo. They are printed clearly in the strip below the photo.
Full studio sheet
Crop one single photo. Remove borders, other copies and studio logos with the crop box.
Face too small
Zoom in so your head and shoulders fill the box. Keep both ears and the neck visible.
Wrong format
TNPSC needs JPG. PNG, WebP and HEIC files are converted to JPG automatically.
TNPSC photo upload rejected? Check these
- File size: must be 20 KB to 50 KB.
- Format: JPG only. Do not upload PDF, PNG, HEIC or a screenshot.
- Name and date: both must be visible below the photo.
- Photo quality: recent, colour, in focus, no filters, no cap or dark glasses.
- Crop: one photo only, face in the centre.
- Right file: upload the newest Photograph.jpg from your Downloads folder.
Resize TNPSC photo on mobile
You do not need a computer or a browsing centre. The tool works in Chrome, Safari, Edge and Samsung Internet on Android and iPhone. On Android the photo is saved in Downloads; on iPhone choose Download and find it in the Files app. You can also add this site to your home screen and open it like an app.
TNPSC photo and signature together
TNPSC asks for two separate files: Photograph.jpg and Signature.jpg. They have different sizes, so make them separately. After your photo is ready, open the TNPSC signature compressor to make a 230 × 75 px signature between 10 KB and 20 KB.

Frequently asked questions
What is the TNPSC photo size?
The TNPSC photo is 3.5 cm wide and 4.5 cm high. This tool creates it as 413 × 531 pixels at 300 DPI, which prints at exactly 3.5 × 4.5 cm, with the photo on top and your name and photo date in a white strip below. The file is a JPG between 20 KB and 50 KB.
What is the TNPSC photo size in KB?
TNPSC accepts a photograph between 20 KB and 50 KB in JPG format. The tool checks the size after creating the file and adjusts the JPG quality automatically so the result stays inside this range.
How do I add name and date to a TNPSC photo?
Type your name in English capital letters, pick the date the photo was taken, choose the photo, crop it and press Create photo. The name and date are printed in the white strip below the photo, as TNPSC asks.
Can I get a TNPSC photo under 30 KB?
Yes. Choose 20 – 30 KB in the Maximum file size box before you create the photo. The tool will keep the file at least 20 KB and not more than 30 KB.
Does this work for TNPSC Group 4, Group 2 and VAO?
Yes. TNPSC uses the same One Time Registration (OTR) photo and signature rules for Group 1, Group 2, Group 2A, Group 4, VAO and other recruitments. Always read the notification of the exam you apply for, in case a rule changes.
Can I use a mobile camera or WhatsApp photo?
A clear mobile camera photo against a plain white or light background works well. Avoid WhatsApp-forwarded photos, screenshots and filtered selfies because they are already compressed and look blurred after resizing.
Can I upload a HEIC photo from iPhone?
Yes. Choose the HEIC file as usual. If your browser cannot preview it, the tool will skip the crop step and centre the photo automatically. You can also change the iPhone camera setting to Most Compatible to save photos as JPG.
Why is my TNPSC photo upload failing?
The common reasons are a file larger than 50 KB or smaller than 20 KB, a PNG or HEIC file instead of JPG, missing name and date, a full studio sheet instead of one photo, or picking an old file by mistake. Download the photo again from this tool and upload the new Photograph.jpg.
What is the TNPSC Group 4 photo size?
Group 4 (VAO, Junior Assistant, Typist and others) uses the same One Time Registration photo: 3.5 × 4.5 cm JPG between 20 KB and 50 KB with your name and the date of photo printed below. The same photo is used for Group 1, Group 2 and Group 2A.
How do I upload my photo in TNPSC OTR?
Log in to your One Time Registration account on the TNPSC website, open the photo and signature section, choose the Photograph.jpg file created here and save. If the portal shows a size error, create the photo again here and upload the new file.
Which date should I print on the TNPSC photo?
Print the date on which the photograph was actually taken, in DD.MM.YYYY format. TNPSC asks for a recent photo, so use a photo taken within the last few months.
Is this a TNPSC photo editor app?
It is a free online TNPSC photo editor that works in your browser, so there is nothing to install. You can add it to your phone home screen and open it like an app.
Are my photos stored on your server?
Your photo is uploaded over HTTPS only to create the JPG. The uploaded image is deleted right after processing. The finished JPG is kept for at most 2 hours so you can download it, and then deleted automatically. We never share or reuse your photos.
